To do this, we have embarked on a capital campaign that will not only expand our facilities, but make POP Santa Fe the community hub for people living with Parkinson’s in Northern New Mexico.

Rock Climbing for PD

Starting on Saturday 1/24 (and every following 3rd Saturday of the month), the Santa Fe Climbing Center will have open climb time from 2 - 3:30 for everyone in the PD community.

Indoor rock climbing is a total-body workout that requires problem solving in the moment. It's great exercise and open to everyone - PwP, care partners, friends, volunteers and coaches. All participants must sign the waiver. Many thanks to Andre, the owner of the SF Climbing Center, for setting this up for us!

The Feldenkrais Method is a gentle modality developed to improve our everyday movement and heal chronic pain. The primary way we do this  is through bodily awareness and re-learning how to move from a place of skeletal stability so the muscles don’t have to work so hard.

Support Group: Neuroacupuncture

Chinese Scalp Acupuncture is a contemporary acupuncture technique integrating traditional Chinese needling methods with Western medical knowledge of the brain.  Scalp acupuncture is a modern technique with just 39 years of history.  Scalp acupuncture has been proven to be the most effective technique to treating acute and chronic central nervous system disorders. Dr. Hao will discuss the benefits of neuroacupuncture for people with Parkinson’s Disease.

Dr. Hao and his assistant will demonstrate and discuss the benefits of this technique for those who are interested.  This event will be 2 hours long.
