Dr. Steve Cox, Associate Professor/Engineering Technology at Northern New Mexico College (NNMC)
Under the direction and mentorship of Dr. Steve Cox (NNMC), and Espanola Valley High (EVHS) teachers Janice Badogen Patal-e and Lyne Salero, the students have designed a glove that applies small brief vibrations to the fingertips to alleviate symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease.
Dr. Cox will be bringing several students from NNMC engineering program and possibly Espanola Valley High Schools (EVHS) Math, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) to tell us how this glove was developed, produced, and demonstrate its use. Several of our people with Parkinson’s have purchased this product and are currently using it. Dr. Cox has spoken previously with our PD community last year at PD Clubhouse.
