Exploring the Power of Art and Expression in the Face of Parkinson’s Disease
September 5 through September 14, 2025
The Finding Parkinson’s exhibit and events highlighted the importance of creativity and movement in managing the physical and psychological effects of PD by promoting emotional well-being, cognitive function, and social connections.
This special community exhibit featured the artwork of C. David Thomas, an accomplished Boston-based artist living with Parkinson’s Disease (PD) from his exposure to Agent Orange in the Vietnam war. Mr. Thomas explores the neurology of PD through his art, which superimposes facial images over his MRI brain scans and lithograph prints.
The exhibit was accompanied by two panel discussions:
- Neuroscience, Art, and Parkinson’s, September 6, 3pm, NM School for the Arts Read more…
- Art and Movement, September 13, 3pm, NM School for the Arts Read more…
The videos of both panels, along with a third video featuring C. David Thomas have now been posted on Youtube. View on YouTube.
